Today, we were supposed to watch a documentary about Finance. However, I watched it last night and did not feel that it was appropriate for our classroom. Therefore, we watched a nutritional documentary about the dangers of sugar.

We will complete the term learning about various financial institutions and their purposes. We will also look into beginning the search for scholarships, etc. for post-high school education, whether that be college, trade school, or on-the-job training.

Students are just completing a unit on safety and first aid. They all learned hands-only CPR. Our next unit will take a look at our environment. We will finish the semester asking health questions with difficult answers.

Students continue to learn more about nutrition. Ask your student what he/she learned today about the most “dangerous” food in our diet. We will be spending time finding out what nutrients and calories are in our favorite homecooked meals as well as our favorite fast food meals. We will watch portions of documentaries on food an nutrition also. This will take us to the end of the semester.
