Students will be studying noncommunicable diseases. These include asthma, allergies, cancer, cardiovascular disease, etc.

6th Grade Health

Students are beginning a unit on fitness. They will learn fitness definitions. They will measure their own fitness levels. They will learn components of fitness and of workouts.

HS Finance

Students are beginning a unit on Credit and Debt. Students will learn about Credit Scores and Credit Reports. They will understand the true cost of borrowing money. We will discuss specific loans, such as car loans. Finally, students will learn how to get out of and stay out of debt.

For the next two to three weeks, students will be learning more about entrepreneurship and small business ownership. Students will begin to develop a legitimate business they can run as high school students. The businesses will be up and running early in the second semester.

Academy Health Classes will be studying financial health for the next two weeks. We will learn how to make a budget (and why). We will learn about savings, goals, expectations, and expenses.
