Hello my world travelers. This week we are finishing up with our 5 themes of geography and continuing on with floodplain civilizations. As we work our way through these early civilizations, you will see that we are focusing on one of our earliest known civilization, Mesopotamia. Students will learn why this region was called the cradle of civilization and the many inventions that derived from it. We have been taking a lot of in class notes so please remember to come to class prepared.

I am also missing a lot of assignments from students and they need to be turned in as soon as possible. I have given very few assignments this term so I expect for the assignments to be turned in or the student will be receiving a zero. GET THEM TURNED IN GANG!!!

Finishing up Soccer and then playing wiffleball while transitioning into our next unit of Softball.

Reminder that we have locker checks on Friday.

1812 Field Trip Update

OK, the trip is only a few weeks away and I have only received approximately 25 permission slips. The deadline of September 24th is coming up extremely quick so I need them turned in as soon as possible. I have already submitted the school lunch menu for those wanting to take a school lunch instead of bringing a sack lunch with them. Speaking of the lunches, please make sure that any lunch brought on the trip DOES NOT need refrigerated and can be easily thrown away. We will not have access to a refrigerated area where we are going.

So far, the uniform of the day will be APA uniform shirt and jeans or uniform pants. Tennis shoes are highly recommended due to the terrain we will be walking around in. I am allowing phones to be brought on this trip so that students may take pictures. However, any misuse or abuse of the phones will be an automatic referral, which will result in a after school detention with me.

We will make this trip rain or shine so please monitor the weather prior to the trip as I will be doing the same. If a poncho, raincoat, or umbrella is necessary, BRING IT. We will return to school just before pick up time so as to not disrupt the traffic flow. If for some reason we are unable to return on time, I will have the students begin texting parents as well as have the school send out a mass message.

Again, permission slips are due this Friday September 24th. It is imperative that these forms are returned by that date for accurate accountability.
