We began our unit on Fairy Tales with story sequence and comparing and contrasting story versions. We have read several versions of The Three Little Pigs, and Goldilocks. This week we will look at Little Red Riding Hood, and will now start investigating differences in similar tales from other cultures. In math, we continue to apply addition strategies we are learning with first graders to help us with double-digit addition and subtraction concepts.

First graders will be learning about phonics blends at the beginning and end of words, synonyms and antonyms, and writing complete sentences with punctuation. We will also be learning about doubles facts, near doubles facts and beginning subtraction concepts.
