Hello!
Please read the newsletter below for any dates to know and reminders! Have a great week!

This week we are switching gears to nonfiction texts and text features. Second graders will be studying the history of the Jack-o-Lantern! First graders will continue to learn about Cause and Effect. We will learn about verbs this week while continuing to review nouns and adjectives.

We are starting our number sense unit in math.  We will start with comparing numbers with greater than and less than and follow up with odds or evens. Second graders need to get more familiar with numbers in the hundreds.

Remember, if the red or yellow folder comes home, please help your student complete that day’s work, or work from earlier in the week. Make sure that your child returns it to school EVERY DAY. Please do not complete the entire packet ahead of time. The packet helps us learn Habit #3: Put First Things First, it is an important part of our classroom routine, organization procedures, accountability expectations, and self-discipline practice. We will be reading Mo Willem’s book Let’s go for a Drive this week to discuss how to prioritize.

If you ever need to contact me, use the Remind 101 app for urgent issues.  For more detailed information, you can e-mail me: vlester@goapa.org  Thanks for all you do!
